Food means many things to many people; to some, it means eating to live to others. It comprises the aroma, the esthetic look of the food, and the taste of the food. What does food mean to you? Today we will be taking a good look at foods that start with T from different parts of the world and prepare these meals for ourselves. There are so many but let’s look at a few.

Topping our list today is Tom Brown porridge. This recipe is made out of cereals delicious and good for both babies and adults. Some people use it to wean babies, but generally, it’s great for a delicious and nutritious family meal. The ingredients include soybeans, millet, tiger nut, cloves, yellow corn, crayfish, and ginger. Firstly pick and clean the soybeans and wash and dry. Fry lightly and remove the shaft by lightly pounding in a motar. Also, repeat the process with the groundout and guinea corn. Next, grind the crayfish, ginger, and cloves separately.

Next, add all ingredients together with the cereals and grind, Sift and keep it in airtight containers. To prepare a meal, measure the required quantity into a bowl, add water and mix till it gets to be a pasty mix. Next, boil some water and add to your mixture till it attains a custard-like texture. Food is ready! Add sugar or salt to taste as the case may be,  or enjoy your cereal as it is; this meal is popular in West Africa in different places like Ghana and Nigeria.

The Next delicious meal that starts with T is Tofu Salad; It’s relatively easy to prepare.  The ingredients include bell peppers, Tofu, carrots, basil, avocados, cucumber, and sesame seeds. Cook the tofu and keep aside, chop the lettuce, basil, tomatoes, and cucumber, and then grate the carrots. Place the chopped lettuce in a Salad bowl and add sliced cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red bell peppers. Add the grated carrots, chopped basil, and sesame seeds, then add the cooked tofu and sliced avocado pear.  Tofu salad is ready, and it’s very healthy.  Beautiful on display on the table and good to eat

Next one is a relatively easy one to prepare and delicious to eat, Tomato soup. Tomato is a rich source of vitamin A and is delicious as a meal. The ingredients include rich red and ripe tomatoes, onions, canned tomatoes, chicken broth, vegetable broth, chili pepper, Maggi cubes, and salt. To start, wash the tomatoes, chili peppers, and some onions, blend with your electric blender and boil lightly in a pot. Spice and boil the Chicken and extract the broth. Keep in a bowl, chop the onions, and mix the tinned tomatoes in a bowl.

Next, put cooking oil in a pot and place it on a medium heated gas burner. Once the oil is heated, add the chopped onions and fry lightly; do not allow to get brown, add the blended tomatoes, and cook for fifteen to twenty minutes. Add the mixed canned tomatoes to thicken the soup,  shortly add the vegetable and chicken broth, pepper, and Maggi cubes. Add the salt to taste and lower the burner and allow the tomato soup to simmer for a few minutes. Tomato soup is ready.

The Next one is Toast waffles; this is relatively easy to prepare; the ingredients include bread, milk, eggs, cinnamon, and sugar. Take a loaf of bread and slice bread into thick slices. Whisk milk, eggs, cinnamon, and sugar together. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture to coat each slice. Allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture, preheat the waffle maker, place the bread in it, cook until golden brown. It’s ready for consumption; it’s popular in the western part of the world as breakfast for kids and adults alike. It’s delicious and relatively easy to prepare.

The next one we will be looking at is Toast bread; toast bread is also very popular worldwide. Breakfast brunch or any east snack, Toast bread is a delightful meal, people prepare it differently in different parts of the world, but the general result is usually tasty. Ingredients include sliced bread, baking fat, Sardine, and oil. Preheat your toaster, prepare a mixture of baking fat and sardine, and place in between two slices of bread. Put some baking fat on your toaster slits with sprinkles of sugar; you can make it plain if you prefer, put the bread in the toaster, and set the time. Once bread pops out, it’s ready. 

The next one is a favorite in Nigeria’s northern part; it is Known as Tuwo Shinkafa. It is eaten as part of a full meal with various soups, depending on the individual’s taste.  The ingredients include ground rice, boiled water, and a clean pot and water. To prepare, put about seven hundred ml of water in a pot, add the ground rice and stir till it gets to a thick consistency, leave it to cool, then mold into large round lumps after washing hands thoroughly.  Enjoy this delicious meal with different types of soup depending on the individual’s choice and taste.

The next food that starts with the letter T is Tortilla. Ingredients include flour, sugar, cinnamon, eggs, water. To prepare, mix the dough using flour, eggs, sugar, and cinnamon using a sturdy wooden spatula. Let it rest for fifteen to twenty minutes after dividing the dough. This helps relax the gluten to ensure smoothness. Roll the tortillas thin about six inches in diameter thick. Then cook for about a minute or two in a medium-hot dry pan with a bit of olive oil or melted butter. Cook them only long enough to get some bubbles on the surface and brown spots on the underside. The tortilla is ready; it can be used for pizzas or sandwich wrap.

Food can be just a source of nourishment, but for many, it has become an art since it is an unavoidable part of living; why not make it exciting as well.
