Another day brings with it another update to Fortnite’s always-changing Item Shop. There are several items appearing in the January 9, 2019 store changeup that fans will agree are worth checking out. Some of them are quite festive, as the theme of Fortnite season 7 would indicate they should be. Despite the fact that the holiday season has wrapped up, the Slushy Soldier should warm the hearts of players. Then again, the Daily Items don’t quite fit the motif for these updates to the shop, but they rarely do.
There are six new Featured Items up for grabs in the Fortnite Item Shop. The aforementioned Slushy Soldier joins the Taro and Nara Epic-rated outfits that are available for purchase. Each costume comes with Back Bling for the corresponding attire. Meanwhile, the Gatekeeper and Icicle Harvesting Tools are present in the storefront and are both Uncommon in rarity. Finally, the Flying Carp Glider (which is, admittedly, one of the cooler gliders seen in Fortnite thus far) is available as a Rare purchase.
The Cloaked Star and First Strike Specialist outfits also make their return under the Daily Items sign. Joining them is the Batsickle Harvesting Tools, the Jolly Roger Glider, and the Slow Clap and Criss Cross Emotes for fans to purchase and bust out during battle. They are all only here for 24 hours though, so players should act fast if they want to add them to their library of cosmetics.
The Featured Items in particular provide their own value to fans that want to stand out on the battlefield, or blend in given the winter vibes of Fortnite season 7. All in all, it’s a noteworthy day for fans looking to drop some V-Bucks on outfits for their in-game character. Again, they’ll just have to act quickly if they plan on doing so because the store will swap in a wave of additional outfits and items at 7pm EST on January 9, 2019.
It’s also great to see that dance emotes are still prominent given the fact that several people are suing Epic Game and Fortnite for stealing their dances. In that light, it’s clear that perhaps not all of them will be around forever and gamers will want to act fast if they plan on seeing themselves use the Carlton again. Although the developer can likely keep these lawsuits going since Epic Games made $3 billion in 2018 alone.
